About the Artist of Puett's Paintings: Carl A. Puett
Carl A. Puett was born in Robert Lee and raised at the Masonic Home and School in Fort Worth, Texas. After High School during the Korean War, Carl joined the U.S. Navy.
After four years in the U.S. Navy, Carl received a Bachelor of Science degree in Art from Texas A&M at Commerce, Texas. Carl received a Masters Degree in Art from the University of Houston and also studied art in Italy at the University of Rome. Carl then took a two-year commercial art course at the Art Institute of Houston. Carl studied with western artist, Joe Radar Roberts, he worked with G Harvey and Lajos Markos. Carl has been painting in various mediums acrylics, watercolor, oil and has settled predominately with oils and presenting his work at art shows for 55 years, winning awards more recently in San Bernardino County, CA Fair, Best of show in Stagecoach fever shows in Apple Valley, CA, along with an award in 2019 for the Poster winner @ Salado Art Show.
After teaching art for thirty years in Houston, Texas, he and his wife retired to Marquez, Texas so he could devote full time to painting. His paintings feature southwestern scenes, wildflower landscapes, wildlife, antique cars, seascapes and rural farm scenery.
